About the job

Red Bull within On Premise events. These include national Red Bull Consumer Marketing events in On Premise and also 3rd party organised events ranging from music festivals, food markets, picnics, beach parties, street parades, after parties, etc. The OPEM will be a strong negotiator and collaborator, interfacing with all key stakeholders to maximise impact of and leverage Red Bull On Premise event infrastructure and content. Responsibilities include securing partnerships, listing and quality execution of On Premise event infrastructure at 3rd party events, building partnerships with event suppliers (organisers, bar companies, promoters, catering companies, etc.), working closely with the wider Marketing Department for consumer marketing initiatives at these events, as well as training and coaching the On Premise team on event tools and execution with excellence at events. In addition, the OPEM will take responsibility for the On Premise (bar and product experience) at all Red Bull owned marketing and field events.

Management & Leadership of On Premise Event Marketing

  • Responsible for executing and adapting the international marketing guidelines according to the market needs.
  • Own the local strategy for growing Red Bull availability, activation and presence across the events landscape.
  • Significant contribution to the On Premise Business Plan.
  • Management of Red Bull event tools and POS including logistical requirements of (set up and warehousing) while also monitoring their impact on consumption.
  • Track, record and evaluate all results of event activities implemented.
  • Maintain a constant exchange of information and best practices with the national On Premise team.
  • Utilise resources and infrastructure (agencies, logistic partners, promoters) for maximum impact
  • Permanent observation of market trends and active search for new business opportunities in the market, identifying potential for improving and adding new sales & marketing activities.
  • Responsible for allocation of POS tools and monitoring their correct placement.
  • Manage and grow a strong network of external promoters, key influencers, national decision makers, and the local scene
  • Strong collaboration with marketing teams (brand, culture, sports, Red Bull Media Network).


Red Bull Owned Events

  • Leverage the global Red Bull events portfolio for consumers & industry
  • Create, develop and deliver local Red Bull party & socializing events
  • Identify and deliver on opportunities to utilize Red Bull event assets from marketing teams (Culture, Sports etc)
  • Collaborate with brand marketing to localize Red Bull party & socializing assets to the market (Key creative, POS, social media assets etc)
  • Collaborate with brand marketing to develop impactful consumer activations to support and further increase the impact of our events
  • Collaborate with Red Bull Media Network to increase overall reach of the events


Increase Availability & Activation

  • Responsible for mapping and identifying new listing opportunities for Red Bull across the events landscape.
  • Maintaining existing partnerships and growing our presences at the event through marketing activations and POS.
  • Train On Premise teams to ensure world class activation of marketing initiatives, POS and event tools.
  • Development of new marketing activations to further impact the consumer and grow consumption of Red Bull
  • Applying Industry Marketing initiatives to strengthen relationships with decision makers and staff.
  • Development and the translation of national campaigns into the events landscape


Network building

  • Build a strong national network with external promoters, key influencers, national decision makers, event organisers and the local scene in search of new collaboration opportunities.
  • Know and map the Event Landscape in South Africa and ensure quality 360 execution of events.
  • Responsible for creating, executing and adapting the national Event strategy in alignment with international guidelines according to the South African market needs.
  • Negotiate win/win partnership agreements which add value to both Red Bull business and the customer's business. Seek efficiencies by using more Red Bull tools and concepts which turn cash into content, increased visibility and add more value.
  • Responsible for securing availability and execution with excellence and impact at Music Festivals and other 3rd party events with impact.
  • Joint responsibility, together with the Musketeers, for executing marketing activities and POS/On Premise Event Tool activation in keeping with the international strategy at Red Bull events, festivals and 3rd party events.
  • Support of the Musketeers to implement tools and concepts in national key accounts.


Track, record and evaluate all results of event activities implemented.

  • Maintain a constant exchange of information and best practices with the national On Premise team especially the On Premise Marketing Manager.
  • Utilise resources and infrastructure and cooperate with other departments and external stakeholders (agencies, logistic partners, promoters) for maximum impact.
  • Contribute to building a national On Premise Events business plan.
  • Active compilation of national and international On Premise learning and showcases.
  • Ensure all events and festivals properly maintained and updated within the relevant CRM


People management

  • Lead, develop and inspire a team of Festival Musketeers
  • Show a proactive approach to succession planning and personal development of you and your team

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years event and/or consumer marketing experience
  • In-depth knowledge of the On Premise and event marketing.
  • Strong event and festival industry knowledge.
  • Excellent planning and project management abilities.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Creative mind.
  • Exceptional communication skills, including presentation and training abilities.
  • Willing to work weekends and at nights.
  • Autonomous, self-starter with a focus on results and customers
