This is an exciting opportunity for a Junior Social Media Journalist to join the Sky Sports Social Media team, with a primary focus on football. The role will involve commissioning, curating and publishing compelling, social-first content across Sky Sports’ football channels and wider Sky Sports brand accounts.

Working closely with the wider social team, editorial and video teams within Sky

Sports Digital, as well as Sky Sports News and Content teams, you will play a key role in ensuring Sky Sports remains the sports media brand of choice for under-35 and diverse audiences. The role also contributes to driving audience growth, engagement and revenue opportunities, while adding ongoing value to the Sky Sports subscription.

What You'll Do

  • Create and publish social-first football content across all Sky Sports football platforms, including graphics, video edits and thumbnails.
  • Commission, curate and publish content in a timely, accurate and consistent manner, working closely with production and digital teams.
  • Tailor content and tone for each social platform while maintaining Sky Sports Social’s brand voice.
  • Cut and publish live football coverage across multiple social platforms, supporting monetisation opportunities including live streams.
  • Work closely with editorial and video teams to ensure social output is fully aligned with wider Sky Sports content strategies.
  • Liaise with the Community Management team to engage audiences, respond to trends and maximise reach and interaction.
  • Demonstrate a growing understanding of editorial processes and develop strong news judgement.
  • Contribute creative ideas and new propositions to help evolve Sky Sports’ football presence across social platforms.
  • Maintain strong awareness of current football stories, wider sporting issues and competitor activity.
