This Football Development Manager will drive the success of all youth, high school, and flag football outreach programs and initiatives. The Steelers Football Development department’s role is to grow and promote the game of football through camps, clinics, and other experiential opportunities for boys and girls aged 6 through high school.
Duties And Responsibilities
- This position will work various hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed by the department’s events, including game day responsibilities. Manage event planning and execution for all youth football events including Youth Football Camps, Youth Football Mini-Camps, Coaching Clinics, Training Camp and other outreach events.
- Manage and coordinate all high school football related events and programs, including the Steelers Showcase Game of the Week.
- Coordinate and execute youth and high school football activations and programs for all Steelers home games, including Youth Co-Captains, Coach of the Week and High School Champions Days.
- Manage all youth and high school football contact databases
- Coordinate and execute events related to NFL Flag Football
- Assist with managing social media accounts
- Manage youth football equipment, promotional items and storage facilities
- Provide support for other Football Development/Alumni Relations events and programs as needed.
- Serve as point of contact for NFL and various partner engagements and meetings.
- Physical Requirements – extended period of standing, walking, lifting football equipment of up to 50 lbs.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation
Education And Experience Requirements- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Experience in event operations
- Minimum of five years of experience in the sports industry preferred
- Previous experience in youth or high school football coaching and/or administration preferred
- Background checks required – PA State Police Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance, FBI Criminal History Record Information
Skill And Knowledge Requirements- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel, including children, coaches, parents, administrators and large groups.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Experience with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
