CLIENT SERVICES / Responsible for leading Octagon’s client business and day-to-day management of client programs.

We are thrilled to be adding an Account Director to our team to lead one of our key accounts and develop entire luxury sporting events.

YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

  • Manage the development and delivery of experiential and marketing programs, mostly domestic sporting (especially golf) events at a global standard
  • Direct creative planning for full-year integrated programming
  • Lead day-to-day client interface to insure sound comprehension of and adherence to global brand guidelines, business objectives, budgetary parameters, delivery timelines and impactful results
  • Liaise and build relationship with rightsholders to negotiate and maximize sponsorship rights for clients
  • Lead internal integration efforts to ensure seamless and timely delivery of quality materials to clients and eventually to market
  • Develop thoughtful POVs, insights and results reports that will advise sensible marketing plans and real-time campaign improvements
  • Lead sports and luxury property relationships and renewal exercises, where applicable
  • Work with internal stakeholders on financial and contract review processes
  • Participate in business development efforts via prospecting and contributing to the development of proposals

YOU WILL ALSO NEED TO HAVE:

  • A passion for and expertise in sports (especially golf), entertainment, luxury brand experiences, and athlete marketing
  • A total of seven to ten year(s) experience working in account management, experiential marketing or client service at an agency, brand or sports or entertainment property
  • Excellent understanding of the Japanese and international sports industry and sponsorship landscape
  • Experience working with both Japanese and international clients and stakeholders
  • Corporate hospitality experience and ability to host both B2C and C-level B2B guests
  • Acute attention to detail and ability to follow and track internal and client processes
  • Strong client management skills and possess the confidence to provide them with strategic guidance and direction
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to balance multiple sophisticated tasks simultaneously
  • Strong ability to work as within and lead a team, demonstrate initiative, and solve problems effectively and independently
  • A sense of business process and how marketing, communications, and events are used to impact the bottom line and drive brand objectives
  • Ability to manage relationships with key vendors and partners (e.g. venues, properties, suppliers, etc.)
  • Capacity to quickly become knowledgeable on our clients’ industry, brand (creative identity) and product offerings
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel and work weekend/holidays as needed
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Software (specifically PowerPoint, Excel and Word)
  • Excellent oral & written communication in Japanese and English (ideally Japanese at a native level)
  • Possesses Japanese (or international) driver’s license or willing to take the test
  • Ideally experienced in golf events and luxury brand client management, with international experience
