We're actively seeking an exceptional Marketing Manager / Brand Marketing Manager who can create and execute comprehensive marketing plans to build brand awareness, increase supporter engagement, and drive commercial activities.

This position has a special focus on Gen Z / Gen Alpha brand marketing, advertising, retail marketing and product licensing, influencer marketing, and cultural initiatives.

The ideal candidate is able to handle multiple projects at one time while ensuring overall objectives are being met,and driving initiatives across various groups within the organization including Digital, Retail, Commercial and Communications.


Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Partner with Brand leadership to support development and execution of brand concept and creative development, marketing briefs, strategic tools and activation plans
  • Champion the voice and perspective of our current and prospective supporters, both in the UK and Internationally
  • Drive concept map and continually create new supporter experiences that accelerate brand and business growth opportunities.
  • Own and manage specific marketing projects (Seasonal narrative, kit launches, collaborations, etc), from strategy through tactical execution, including reporting and analysis.
  • Amplify LUFC supporter engagement strategies including owned and earned media plans, strategic partnerships, negotiating trade opportunities, overseeing creative production and trafficking of all creative deliverables.
  • Develop and lead influencer marketing program, including management of existing relationships and identifying new influencers with a focus on next gen influencers.
  • Work with current and potential commercial partners and internal partner activation teams to develop and manage meaningful activation programs.
  • Assist retail marketing and consumer product licensing with internal teams and 3rd party vendors
  • Review and approve the usage of executions across the club to ensure adherence to brand guidelines
  • Integrate cross-departmentally to align with departments on cultural initiative recognition and develops strategic plans to amplify
  • Manage and develop a talented marketing executive
  • Partner with media and local organizations to identify integration opportunities to amplify objectives.


Required Abilities and Skills:

  • Proven ability to develop, manage and assess breakthrough marketing activations across both physical and digital landscapes
  • Demonstrates ability to effectively build a network of contacts at all levels within the industry and in the community, both internally and externally.
  • Culturally connected and digitally savvy Eye for design and ability to assess creativity and provide clear direction
  • Solution oriented and creative problem-solving skill set.
  • Ability to initiate, design, plan, execute, monitor and evaluate outcomes of a project or initiative.
  • Understands the most effective and efficient way to accomplish tasks within the parameters of organizational hierarchy, processes, systems, timelines, and budget.
  • Organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively, while balancing and prioritizing multiple or competing tasks.
  • Communicates orally and in writing in a clear, concise, and impartial manner.
  • Encourages open communication and builds consensus. Uses tact and discretion in dealing with sensitive information, and keeps stakeholders informed of decisions and directives as appropriate.
  • Fosters a collaborative approach across the department and organization.


Education and Experience:

  • Strong experience in a youthful-centric marketing role, across both physical and digital platforms
  • Proven success managing end-to-end marketing activation programs
  • Strong understanding of passion-fueled brand engagement across sports, music, fashion, gaming, etc
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or other relevant areas
  • International experience preferred


Travel and Matchday Responsibilities

  • Willingness to travel to matches and/or to meet with relevant existing and potential commercial partners
  • Ability to work evening and weekends as required to support matchday activities, partner activations and community events
  • On-site management of activations and/or other support across commercial, retail, digital functions during game day and across other club events
  • The role will primarily be based in Leeds but with the potential for a day a week to be remote.
