Role Purpose

MKTG Sports & Entertainment are looking for someone ambitious and driven to join the team to help drive the new business and marketing function.

This is an amazingly diverse role, and we want someone who will play a key part in assisting the senior team on new business drives, client pitches, client growth, and marketing initiatives.

This role will report into the Managing Director.

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Support the senior leadership on new business pitches, ensuring a highly organised process which will include holding people to deadlines.
  • Develop relationships within the dentsu network to generate leads and conversations around sports & entertainment.
  • Generate new logo growth opportunities in the marketplace.
  • Work closely with other agency partners and sister agencies in dentsu Sport International to identify opportunities for new business.
  • Own the unidentified new business pipeline.
  • Lead on outbound prospecting to drive pipeline.
  • Project manage and/or support the development of creative content, case studies and credentials.
  • Own the MKTG marketing channels and output, including social, website and comms –
  • Work with leadership on developing and delivering our communications strategy, managing the marketing and content calendar and timelines.
  • Drive a focused and proactive awards approach that not only identifies but improves our awards submissions, increasing our success.
  • Be an active part of a community of marketing professionals within the global MKTG Sports + Entertainment network.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for improvement and actively develop new processes.
  • Deliver appropriate metrics, campaign performance, optimise content and report preparation.
  • Help to educate the wider business on how they can support with participating in new client proposals and pitch processes.
  • Take interest in the wider marketing industry to understand how sponsorships fits into it.
  • Take ownership of personal development with the support of line manager.

Person Specification

  • Self-starter, focussed, self-motivated and ambitious
  • Problem solving abilities
  • Good organisational skills
  • Background and track record of delivering new business
  • Understanding of marketing for an agency
  • Knowledge of the sports & entertainment industry/sponsorship landscape
  • Capability to use own initiative and pay close attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Brilliant at developing compelling presentations and communications plans
  • Ability to effectively speak/present in public
  • Comfortable with finance, spreadsheets and numeracy
  • Personable ‘can do’ attitude
  • Capable of working under pressure

  • Interest in sport & entertainment
  • Experience of working in an agency environment
