Description The Premier League’s Communications department is looking for a Communications Executive to support the wide-ranging work of its Communications department, with particular focus related to on-pitch football matters. The right candidate will be motivated, organised and able to work in a fast-paced environment. The candidate should have a strong background in communications and knowledge of football.

The role will require the candidate to work with relevant Premier League departments, Clubs and other external stakeholders to assist in promoting the League.

This role will require weekend and evening (on rotation) working from the Premier League Match Centre based at Stockley Park.

The work we do in conjunction with the Clubs also goes far beyond the 90 minutes. We support and provide a framework for youth development, we protect the organisation’s intellectual property, support the wider game and community programmes, undertake international development work and liaise with governing bodies and other leagues.

Where possible, you will attend the office or site visits in line with our company policy. All staff liaise closely with their line manager to manage their time appropriately and according to their work and team requirements.

The Role
The main duties will include, but not be limited to:

  • Providing communications support to Premier League internal and external stakeholders related to football-related matters from the Premier League Match Centre.
  • Supporting in daily media monitoring and all associated reporting.
  • Assisting production of internal communications materials.
  • Drafting relevant communications such as briefing lines and press releases.
  • Distributing content to media.
  • Supporting the delivery of activities and events to enhance the reputation of the Premier Leagu.
  • Working with the Head of Football Communications to respond to Premier League football-related issues.
  • Liaising with the Premier League’s Digital teams to ensure effective use of social and digital channels when promoting the League’s activities.
  • Supporting the Communications department with the development and implementation of structured PR plans.


Role Requirement
  • Availability for out of hours work including weekends as required, in accordance with our flexi-working guidelines.
  • Extensive experience working within a communications function (preferably within a sporting environment).
  • Knowledge of football, its landscape and ability to communicate football-related decisions clearly to stakeholders.
  • Proven track record in delivering communications campaigns and media liaison.
  • Strong writing ability and experience in drafting press releases and statements.
  • Good interpersonal skills and confidence to deal with senior internal and external figures in a professional manner.
