Meent is supporting AS Saint-Étienne in the recruitment of a full-time Supporters Liaison Officer on a permanent contract.

A historic pillar of French football, AS Saint-Étienne is one of the country’s most iconic sports institutions. With a legendary track record and a deeply rooted popular identity, the club relies on the passion of its supporters and a renewed sporting and structural ambition.

Reporting hierarchically to the Deputy Managing Director in charge of Sporting Activities and functionally to the Head of Safety & Security, the Supporters Liaison Officer acts as the key point of contact between AS Saint-Étienne and all its supporters. He/she contributes to the coordination of home and away matches and helps maintain a constructive relationship with all supporter groups.


Missions & Responsibilities

  • Act as the link between supporters and the club, helping to strengthen dialogue between both parties;
  • Ensure that every supporter has the opportunity to contact a club representative for any question related to supporter activities and rights;
  • Inform supporters of decisions made by the club’s management that may concern them, and relay supporters’ perspectives to the club. Ensure that all issues raised by supporter groups—official or not—are communicated and considered;
  • Guarantee regular communication between the club and its supporters, and encourage closer relationships;
  • Build and maintain relationships with supporter groups, police authorities, local institutions, safety and ticketing managers, and any other stakeholders involved in supporter-related activities;
  • Work closely with the club’s Head of Safety & Security and the Stadium Manager;
  • Participate in the preparation of all matches, home and away, and access all information necessary for collaboration between clubs, supporters, and police authorities;
  • Collaborate with counterpart SLOs from other clubs, as well as with the national coordinator from the LFP & FFF;
  • Act as a mediator, especially in the event of conflicts between the club and supporter groups, between police and supporters, or between different supporter groups;
  • Inform supporters of any legal, regulatory, or commercial developments related to their activities;
  • Lead projects and initiatives aimed at improving supporter experience and engagement;
  • Actively participate in all match preparation meetings, home and away, and gather all information necessary to support coordination with clubs, supporters, and authorities.


Profile Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Minimum of a two-year post-secondary degree (Bac +2 or equivalent);
  • Experience in the sports industry—ideally within a professional club—is an asset;
  • A good command of English (reading, writing, speaking) to communicate with international bodies and during potential travel abroad;
  • Any experience in the associative or community sector will be appreciated.


Professional Skills

  • Strong knowledge of supporter culture at local and national levels;
  • Experience in social relations and group dynamics;
  • Good understanding of media, social networks, and communication techniques;
  • Proficiency in standard IT tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Personal Qualities

  • Excellent communication, mediation, and conflict-resolution skills;
  • Awareness of and commitment to fundamental values such as anti-discrimination and anti-violence;
  • High level of motivation, reliability, flexibility (including working evenings/weekends);
  • Ability to work in stressful and/or challenging environments.


Other information

  • Contract type : Full-time permanent contract - 35h/week
  • Location : Saint-Étienne (42) - Administrative Centre of L’Etrat, Stade Geoffroy-Guichard, external missions + occasional remote work + business travel (local, national, or international depending on needs)
  • Starting date : ASAP (January at the latest)
  • Working hours : Monday to Friday (office hours) + match days (home & away)
  • Salary : Depending on profile and experience – €28–30k + 13th-month bonus
