The International Olympic Committee (IOC) is the guardian of the Olympic Games and the leader of the Olympic Movement. A truly global organisation, it acts as a catalyst for collaboration between all Olympic stakeholders, including athletes, National Olympic Committees (NOCs), International Sports Federations (IFs), Organising Committees for the Olympic Games (OCOGs), Worldwide Olympic Partners and Media Rights-Holders. It also works with public and private authorities, including the United Nations and other international organisations.   

As Olympian Trainee you will support the delivery of Athlete365 Career+ Workshops , athlete support and partnership programmes,  and IOC and Athletes’ Department  activities as needed. Your main responsibilities as a trainee will be:

Athlete365 Career+

  • Support the delivery of Athlete365 Career+ workshops, educator courses, events and related services, ensuring compliance with IOC processes and systems (e.g. SharePoint, Smartsheet, Concur, etc.).
  • Coordinate end-to-end processes for Athlete365 Career+ workshops, including applications, Olympic Solidarity RELAY submissions, travel arrangements, statistics and invoicing.
  • Liaise and follow up with workshop organisers (National Olympic Committees, International Federations, Athletes’ Commissions), educators, travel agency and others -in various languages- to ensure successful workshop delivery.
  • Handle regular updates of guides, workshop materials, promotional assets and translations across multiple languages to maintain consistency, quality and accessibility. (i.e Event kit).
  • Create and update digital content and resources for the Career+ section of the Athlete365 website in collaboration with the Athlete365 Career+ and Digital Communications teams.
  • Develop communication assets (articles, videos, imagery, etc.) to promote Athlete365 Career+ across various channels.
  • Coordinate meetings and prepare presentations or support materials as required.
  • Manage the Athlete365 Career+ email inbox and provide timely support to the global Athlete365 Career+ community.

 

Athlete support programmes

  • Provide input for programmes developed in collaboration with Worldwide Olympic Partners and Media Rights-Holders.
  • Support Athlete Partnership Managers by collecting and reviewing application data and assisting in the campaigns and communications for specific programmes as required.
  • Handle administrative tasks and logistics related to the management of athlete partnership programmes.
  • Assist in coordinating the Athlete365 Mentoring Programme, the Business Accelerator Programme and other initiatives as needed.


Other responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development of Athlete365 Career+ partnerships and selected athlete support programmes with athlete-related insights.
  • Prepare and coordinate reports and presentations on behalf of the Athlete Support and Partnerships Unit.
  • Organise internal and external meetings, including guest access, meeting rooms, travel arrangements and catering, as required.
  • Support the delivery of requests, presentations, events and activities within the Athletes’ Department and with key stakeholders.


Eligibility criteria for the role:

  • Bachelor’s or equivalent qualification in administration, management, psychology, education or any related subject area.
  • Project coordination experience (2 years).
  • Mandatory: previous participation in the Olympic Games as an “Aa” accredited athlete
  • Ideally a dual career background (sports career that has been combined with education/work).
  • Fluent in English with excellent writing skills. Knowledge of Spanish and French is an advantage.
  • Excellent command of corporate tools and ability to follow the internal user rules (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Mentimeter, etc.).
  • Basic understanding of web applications and marketing platforms. 


Technical, organisational and personal competences

  • Strong knowledge of the sports ecosystem, including the Olympic Games, International Federations and the Olympic Movement structure.
  • Proven experience working in an international and multicultural environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within teams, fostering open communication and cooperation.
  • Demonstrated ownership of tasks and proactivity, with a focus on detail, results and agility.
