FIFA27 will be established as the Local FIFA Subsidiary in Brazil, to work together with FIFA HQ in Zurich and globally, to deliver the biggest women’s sporting event in the world, the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027™ (“FWWC2027”).

THE POSITION

The Senior Manager, Volunteers will lead the end-to-end planning and execution of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027™ Volunteer Programme in Brazil. This position plays a central role in ensuring a consistent, inclusive, and inspiring volunteer experience across all Host Cities, aligned with the global FIFA Volunteer Framework. The ideal candidate will bring strategic vision, operational excellence, and a deep understanding of Brazil’s volunteer culture to help build one of the most memorable and impactful volunteer programme in women’s football history. This person will report to FIFA Zurich team and the FIFA 27 entity. 


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the implementation of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027 Volunteer Programme and it’s concept across all Host Cities in Brazil.
  • Develop and oversee the Volunteer Programme operational plan, including timelines, milestones, deliverables, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure consistency and compliance following the FIFA Volunteer Framework.
  • Lead and manage the FIFA27 Volunteer Management Team, encompassing roles in operations, systems, communications, training, and call centre, fostering collaboration, clarity, and a culture of care and excellence.
  • Manage the FIFA Volunteer Platform and ensure timely delivery of volunteer journey milestones (recruitment, on-boarding, training, scheduling, recognition). 
  • Coordinate the planning and delivery of key milestones including but not limited to launch event, uniform reveal, orientation days, thank you parties and other volunteer-focused events. 
  • Oversee the overall communications and promotional strategy, in close collaboration with the Communications, Marketing, Brand, and Digital teams. 
  • Ensure local integration by collaborating with Host City teams to tailor activation and onboarding strategies that meet city-specific needs and cultural context. 
  • Coordinate with all Functional Areas (FAs) to assess volunteer scoping, shift planning, and daily operational coverage per venue. 
  • Ensure the delivery of all support services for volunteers, including uniforms, meals, transport, and accreditation, by liaising with relevant departments (Workforce, Event Transport, Catering, Accreditation, etc.). 
  • Collaborate with Legal and Government Relations to ensure regulatory compliance, particularly in labor law, data privacy, and volunteer eligibility across different regions of Brazil. 
  • Develop training material in collaboration with FIFA Zurich. 
  • Develop all relevant processes and procedures. 
  • Develop, implement and deliver the volunteer reward and recognition program. 
  • Establish clear reporting and monitoring processes to evaluate programme effectiveness, volunteer satisfaction, and service delivery.
  • Ensure compliance to the FIFA tournament guidelines and oversee project execution in alignment with the approved budget, identifying efficiencies and cost-effective delivery methods. 
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of an International Volunteer Welcome Strategy, including logistics, visa facilitation, and cultural integration. 
  • Represent the Volunteer Programme in cross-functional meetings, host city briefings, readiness workshops, stakeholder engagements and strategic planning. 


YOUR PROFILE

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in large-scale volunteer, workforce, or sport event programme management. 
  • Strong knowledge of the host country’s sports ecosystem and volunteer culture. 
  • Demonstrated experience in team leadership and project delivery 
  • Proven experience working in major sporting events, ideally football. 
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and project management skills. 
  • High cultural awareness with experience in multi-stakeholder and multicultural environments. 
  • Training delivery experience a plus 
  • Familiarity with volunteer management systems and related IT tools is a plus. 
  • Ability to be flexible and adopt an innovative mindset 
  • Team player with internal and external stakeholders  
  • Ability to thrive in an international, dynamic, and fast-paced environment. 
  • Collaborative and empathetic team player, passionate about community-building, sport, and service. 
  • Creativity and resourcefulness to enhance the volunteer experience and drive engagement. 
  • Desirable Master’s in Sports Management or Event Management.

  • Fluent in English (spoken and written)
  • Fluent in Portuguese (spoken and written)
  • Ability to re-locate to Rio de Janeiro.
