About the Role:

Are you passionate about sports journalism? We're looking for a dynamic and driven Sports Reporter to join our team. In this role, you'll research, write, and present compelling sports news content, ensuring timely and accurate coverage of the biggest stories in the industry. You'll attend press conferences, conduct interviews, and contribute to live event reporting while maintaining a well-organized newsroom diary.

Live sports coverage is a key part of this role where you'll be reporting from events, delivering real-time updates, and presenting sports news bulletins with confidence and accuracy. Whether you're on the sidelines or behind the scenes, you'll bring the action to audiences with sharp storytelling and expert analysis.

Collaboration is key, you’ll work closely with producers and editors to shape engaging content, bringing sports stories to life with professionalism and a strong on-camera presence. A strong background in sports journalism, reporting, or broadcasting is essential, along with the ability to manage deadlines and maintain accuracy under pressure. Specific Duties & Tasks:

• Research, write, and present sports news content for the newsroom.
• Attend press conferences, conduct interviews, and provide timely coverage of breaking sports stories.
• Maintain a well-organised newsroom diary to ensure thorough coverage of key events.
• Contribute to live sports coverage, including reporting from events.
• Present sports news bulletins with confidence and accuracy.
• Act as a positive representative of the company, maintaining professionalism in all interactions with teams, athletes, and the public.
• Collaborate with producers and editors to shape engaging content.
• Acknowledge that sports news operates 7 days a week, requiring flexibility, dedication, and a passion for the industry.

Skills & Expertise: 

• Experience in sports journalism, reporting, or broadcasting.
• Strong writing, interviewing, and storytelling skills.
• Ability to work under deadline pressure while maintaining accuracy.
• Confidence in live reporting and on-camera presentation.
• Strong organizational skills for diary management and event scheduling.
• A professional and positive approach when representing the company
• Experience with Mobile Journalism (MoJo) filming techniques is a plus, demonstrating the ability to capture and produce compelling multimedia content on the go.
• Ability to adapt to the fast-paced, always-on nature of sports news coverage.
• Knowledge of media law and libel regulations, ensuring accurate and legally sound reporting.
