The Economics of Sport is changing with increased investment on a global scale by, and with several different stakeholders. Revenue is a key driver and the course will explore how theory and real life examples drive this change.
The Economics of Sport is founded in basic theory of supply and demand. The course, led by Professor Rob Wilson, Academic Director at InSport Education, will apply theory to real life cases within the industry, where the globalisation and growth of sport as a business and an increased focus on revenue generation, has led to the commercialisation of all areas of sport
from the grassroots up.
The eight-module Economics of Sport course will lead with a broad overview of the economics and finance of sport. The remaining eight modules will be a combination of single speaker and panel sessions from thought leaders in the field, designed to deliver specific learning outcomes. The topics will include sport investment, comparing US and European models, new competition formats, future of fan engagement and more.
