Football federations – at global, continental and national levels – continued to make the majority of the most appealing governing bodies for professionals who work or have a desire to work in the sports industry in 2022, according to a survey conducted by the Switzerland-based company iWorkinSport.
The world governing body for football, FIFA, five continental federations and five national associations appear alongside seven international sports federations plus the International Olympic Committee and the International Paralympic Committee as the “Top 20” in the list of Most Attractive Employers in Sport – in the category "Governing Bodies". In fact, 19 of the governing bodies listed in the top 20 of 2021 remained in the list. The new governing body in the list is the US Soccer Federation, which replaced the Italian Football Federation in the shortlist.
The second edition of the study led by iWorkinSport surveyed more than a 1,600 people from all continents, with the majority already working in sport, and asked them a simple question: “If you could choose to work anywhere in sport, where would that be?”
At first, the respondents chose organisations divided into ten categories, and at the end, they indicated one single preferred choice, overall – the “Employer of their Dreams”.

The final rankings of the iWorkinSport Most Attractive Employers 2022 will be announced at an Awards ceremony at the Olympic Museum, in Lausanne, on May 19th, at a VIP dinner offered to recruiters and academic partners of the iWorkinSport Job Fair, which will take place the following day in Lausanne. The report will also feature insightful job market trends’ analysis and interviews.

The survey was conducted from 20 December 2021 to 15 March 2022 and had more than 1,600 respondents, from 111 countries, with 90% having at least a bachelor degree and 63% with postgraduate education, while 79% already work in sport. Detailed demographics data will be available in the report.
